This adventure pairs an intelligent and cunning canine, and an experienced foster parent with the perseverance and determination to search daily during those nine and one-half months. The plot thickens as Kahilah had not one, but two litters of puppies out in the cold between October 2014 and January 2015. Would she be able to keep her puppies safe during a snowy and bitter cold winter and protect them from predators Kahilahs sightings accumulated and her territory expanded throughout a one- to two-mile radius of Leslies home. The undertaking included a network of animal rescue experts who supported Leslie, a local police department, and a vast following on Facebook. Leslie refused to give up hope on this terrified dog and took the steps necessary to bring Kahilah home.
